In our modern world, we are always hearing about numerous of competitions between the best team sports, such as Manchester United FC vs Liverpool FC and Barcelona vs Real Madrid, or well-known athletes, like in tennis competitions among big four Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, on the mass media. In general, we often pay attention to sports that we engage in, whether it is professional, collegiate level, or anything else. For many of us, our lives revolve around the athleticism and competitiveness that makes up sports. We might not notice the important role of sports and games in our lives.
The benefits of sports
There are many values that we can obtain from playing, watching, or being involved in sports.
The first value we received from sports in educational value. When we play sports, we grow discipline in ourselves and our teammates. We do the best in our responsibility. The discipline is the foundation to help us overcome challenges in life. Sports also taught us how to work hard to reach goals and accept losses when it happens. It likes life, successfulness goes along with failure.
Physical activity helps us relieve our emotions and finding calming peace. We often feel happy, blissful, esctatic when we reach our goals or good scores in games, but we also get depressed, discourage, disappointed when we loss the games. But with many games we experienced, we learn how to control emotions during the games and accept the result at the end of games. This is really useful when we enter the workforce and must work with others.
There are enough researches showing the benefits of sports for the body. But I want to summarize at some points. In addition, playing sports increase our endurance, which leads us into the fact that helps us get stronger by helping us lose weight, unwanted fat and gain muscle.
